  49. Here's a relatively short issue.

  51. We received a "name withheld by request" article about the
  52. convention in Luxembourg noted in last week's FidoNews, the one
  53. for which participants were to pay by direct deposit to a
  54. personal bank account in Luxembourg, but we didn't run it
  55. because it slung mud at people. Maybe they deserved it, maybe
  56. not, but challenging ideas or proposals anonymously seems
  57. benign, while sticking it to an actual person anonymously
  58. doesn't seem fair. So it is in holding until we hear back from
  59. the author.

  61. This might be an appropriate time to haul out the old axiom,
  62. "don't believe everything you read".  Articles in the Snooze are
  63. representative of FidoNet in as many of its manifestations as
  64. possible.   There's a couple of new echo announcements, one of
  65. which fosters a conservative point of view as presented in a
  66. recent Playboy Mag :*P.

  92. and by sanitation workers everywhere.  GRIME arose from a local
  93. discussion of how to best clang garbage cans together at 3AM,
  94. and soon became a thriving local network.  Since then, it has
  95. become a global village of trash.  Imagine, if you will, dump-
  96. truck drivers in Queens corresponding with sanitation engineers
  97. from Tokyo, Japan, and you'll have seen just a fragment of what
  98. GRIME is all about.

  101. (Universally considered the worst job of all) to the fine art

  134.     There is a new Echo being started in my area which is called
  135. MARTIAL_ARTS. I have noticed over the last few months, that many
  136. other networks have very busy conferences  on  this  topic,  but
  137. none  in FIDO. I feel that the interest in this field is huge in
  138. the FIDO community as I have come in contact with several others
  139. of  the  same  interest.  If you are interested in carrying this
  140. Echo, please netmail me at 1:107/925 and I will set you  up  for
  141. it. Needless to say, our intention is to gain backbone access in
  142. the near future!
